United Free Church has a long history
in Bannockburn. The Church building was originally Ladywell Free Church but when
the union of the disrupted Churches took place in 1929, the building deeds were
invested with the Church of Scotland. In the 50s when Hillpark was built
Ladywell moved into their new building to meet the needs of the growing Hillpark
Community and the existing building was sold to Murrayfield United free Church,
who's own building was beginning to become to small for their needs.
The church building previously occupied by the Murrayfield Congregation has been
used by various businesses and has now been developed as Flats, bringing
extra housing to the village.
