Within the Bannockburn Community there are many activities going on, from Youth Meetings in the schools, to Women's meetings in the Community Centre, to the various activities that are run by all our churches. The Community has a long history that goes back further than the famous battle of 1314.
A Weaving Village that later became known for Carpet Manufacturing saw its local business base depleted when the Mills closed and production was moved elsewhere. The people survived and the village has grown and is being added to. What was definite green belt between Bannockburn and Stirling now no longer exists and like many other villages the gap between city and village is now no longer there.
Although the village is still being added to there is still a neighbourly feel, where people care and support each other.
